Cross metathesis reactions using γ,δ-unsaturated chromium carbene complexes

Cross metathesis reactions of γ,δ-unsaturated carbene complexes have been explored. Successful cross metathesis was observed in cases involving electron neutral alkenes and allylic ether/ester derivatives. Attempted metathesis reactions using ethyl acrylate were not competitive with cyclopropanation reactions.
