Abstract :
Proton electrophilic addition to 3-phenyl-4-(2,4,6-trimethoxyphenyl)-methyleneisoxazolin-5-one can either catalyse E-Z isomerisation or a Pd(II) assisted cleavage of the exocyclic sp2-hybridised CC bond in dependence on the proton site attack.
