Abstract :
Carbonyl compounds have been successfully converted into their corresponding oxathiolane, dithiolane and dithiane derivatives in excellent yields with 2-mercaptoethanol, 1,2-ethanedithiol and 1,3-propanedithiol using a catalytic amount of molybdenyl acetylacetonate.
