Abstract :
Chiral N-benzylimines derived form d-glyceraldehyde undergo Lewis acid-promoted asymmetric Mannich reactions with O-methyl-O-trimethylsilyl dimethylketeneacetal to give β-amino acid esters in good yields and with excellent diastereoselectivities.
