Abstract :
Potassium alkynyltrifluoroborates react with amines and salicylaldehydes in the presence of benzoic acid to generate highly functionalized amines. Ionic liquids such as butylmethylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (BmimBF4) are suitable solvents for the reaction.
