Negative hyperconjugative interactions in S-nitrosothiols: a theoretical study

The S–N interactions are very weak in S-nitrosothiols because the nO→σ*S–N negative hyperconjugative interaction weakens the σ bond, though the pπ–pπ interactions are reasonably strong.
