Abstract :
Porphyrins fused with dihydroxylated bicyclo[2.2.2]octadiene at β-positions were quantitatively converted to the corresponding tetrabenzoporphyrins either by treatment with NaH in DMF at 0°C or on boehmite at room temperature.
