Abstract
The Fenton reaction was studied voltammetrically at a water|1,2-dichloroethane interface, with hydrogen peroxide in the aqueous phase and (ferrocenylmethyl)trimethylammonium cation (TMFc+) in the organic phase. The reaction mechanism was verified and the reaction kinetics established. It has been shown, that this system can be used for controlled production of OH radicals that can possibly be applied to initiating polymerization of suitable monomers adsorbed at the interface.
