Abstract :
Poly(2-acryalamido-2-methyl-propane-sulfonic acid) (PAMSA)-doped polyaniline layers are used for electroless deposition of Pd nanoparticles involving the polymer as reductant. The electroless metal deposition results in a homogeneous distribution of Pd nanoparticles on the polymer surface. Hydrazine electroxidation on Pd-modified PANI–PAMPSA coated electrodes in neutral solutions is studied in voltammetric and chronoamperometric modes. Linear concentration dependences are found in the concentration range from 0.4 to 4 mmol l−1 in voltammetric and from 40 μmol l−1 to 1 mmol l−1 in chronoamperometric experiments. The limit of detection in chronoamperometric mode is 0.42 μmol l−1.
