Abstract :
Desorption of Li from the Si(1 1 1) surface has been studied by thermal programmed desorption (TPD) spectroscopy. Apart from multilayer desorption TPD spectra show two peaks, which are both assigned to submonolayer desorption. They correspond to coverages of 0.27 and 1 monolayer, respectively. Desorption orders, activation energies, and attempt frequencies (pre-factors) of all features have been determined as function of Li coverage, where possible.
