Abstract
In this paper, an elastic visco-plastic constitutive model for nanocrystalline materials considering the coupled effects of grain size and orientation was proposed for the first time. In the frame work of the model, three cases of different grain size and orientation distribution were analyzed to quantitatively describe the size and orientation effects. Then numerical simulations on the mechanical behaviors of the different cases were performed to figure out the grain size and orientation effects on the overall mechanical behavior of nanocrystalline materials. Especially, the coupled effect of grain size and orientation on the local shear deformation was analyzed and discussed.
