Abstract :
The crystallisation of lobenzarit (LBD) powder, initiated by the decrease in temperature from various methanol/water mixtures with varying alcohol contents, has been investigated. Nonporous and with a lightly surmounted spherical cap shape, LBD particles were obtained for a specific range of methanol molar fraction. This result was ascribed to the occurrence of favourable and concomitant effects related to the mixture composition.
udy of the wettability of the produced particles has allowed the LBD sample to be classified as a low-energy solid. The surface tension of LBD particles, assessed from a procedure based on qualitative floating experiments, was found to be on the order of 25–30 mJ/m2.
