Japanese industrial crystallization research: overview

This paper describes information on Japanese industrial crystallization research activities. The Working Party of Industrial Crystallization, an official research group in The Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan, is introduced. It has about 130 members. It provides a forum for exchange and discussion of latest advances in industrial crystallization. Titles of presentations in recent meetings in japan are introduced to give an image of Japanese research. Results of a questionnaire investigation on the running crystallization processes in Japan are presented. The number distribution of units is shown on crystallization type and operating mode. The number distribution of problems encountered in industrial situations is also illustrated.
