Abstract :
The thermal responsive SiO2/poly-ether composites were prepared successfully by a simple and environment friendly method. The influences of modified concentration, reaction time and reaction temperature on the water contact angle of the prepared composites were studied. The as-prepared samples were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and dynamic light scatter (DLS). The results suggest that the polymer chains had been grafted on the surface of nano-SiO2 and the low critical solution temperature (LCST) of the composite was about 314 K.
