Abstract :
The electric conductivity of benzimidazolium azelate (abbreviated as BenAze) has been studied in a wide temperature range and different isobaric conditions, by means of impedance spectroscopy method. At ambient pressure, the conductivity σdc of the compound studied is well described by the Arrhenius law, suggesting that electric conduction of BenAze is related to a thermally activated process. High pressure leads to a drastic decrease in σdc values and a deviation of the σdc temperature dependence from the Arrhenius law.
