Abstract
In this study, polyaniline/γ-alumina nanocomposite was synthesized by chemical oxidation method and characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform-infrared spectrometer, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller method. Batch adsorption experiments were conducted for removing three types of hazardous dyes Reactive Red 194, Acid Blue 62 and Direct Blue 199 from aqueous solution and the effect of pH, adsorbent dosage, contact time, and initial concentration of dyes were investigated. Meanwhile, kinetic, isotherm, and thermodynamic parameters were also determined.
