Abstract
In the present study, nanocrystalline In2S3 with different morphologies and particle sizes were obtained via an ultrasonic method by employing InCl3·4H2O, thioglycolic acid (TGA) and propylene glycol as In3+, sulfur source and solvent agent, respectively. Besides, the effects of preparation parameters such as time and power of ultrasonic irradiation, solvent, and surfactant on the morphology and particle size of the products were studied. The synthesis procedure is simple and facile for the preparation of structures with various morphologies. The morphology, structure, and composition of the as-synthesized nanostructures have been investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Optical properties of the as-prepared sample were investigated by photoluminescence (PL) and ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) spectroscopy.
