Abstract :
New two-dimensional microcrystalline V1−xCrxOy·nH2O phase, where x<0.25 and 6.4<n<8.7 has been synthesized from the reaction of peroxo-polyacids of vanadium and chromium. The materials show some structural periodicity corresponding to the basal spacing of ca. 1.088–1.146 nm. The degree of crystallinity decreases and the thermal stability of the materials increases upon decreasing their V/Cr ratio.
