Abstract :
An efficient and simple one pot method has been developed for the synthesis of 1,4-benzothiazines by allowing the condensation of 2-aminobenzenethiols and 1,3-dicarbonyls using cheaper biocatalyst, bakerʹs yeast. The role of ultrasonication in the rate expediting of the condensation has been discussed.
