Influence of host electronic structure on lithium intercalation process

The paper is a review of some cathode materials used in lithium batteries. A correlation between chemical bonding, electronic structure, and electrochemical properties of the cathode materials LixMaXb (M=transition metal; X=O, S) has been demonstrated.
