Abstract :
An analysis of the operation of districts nos. 2 and 7 of the Moscow heat-supply system, whose network water has an elevated pH, is conducted. It is shown that increasing the pH of the sodium-cationized network water to 9.5-10.0 will enable the failure rate of the pipelines from internal corrosion to be reduced by about 10 times. This is accomplished by forming a protective iron oxide calcium carbonate film on the pipeline surface. At the same time as the pH is raised, we have to norm the O2 content in the network water.
