Abstract
A method for protecting the metal of hot-water networks against corrosion through the injection of hydrogen for removing oxygen is discussed. The equation of diffusion kinetics for removing oxygen from the water flowing in a pipe is derived. It is shown that the characteristic length of the process depends on the rate of pumping of the water and the coefficient of diffusion of the gas to the wall of the pipe.
