Abstract :
Physical properties of new non-magnetic atom disorder compound Nd2PtSi3 are investigated by dc magnetization, ac susceptibility, magnetic relaxation, specific heat and electrical resistivity measurements. The results establish that Nd2PtSi3 is a long-range magnetic exchange interactions dominated ferromagnet with Curie temperature TC=17.5 K. Irreversible magnetism and long time magnetic relaxation observed in this system are mainly resulted from the domain-wall pinning effects. The possibility of formation of spin-glass state in Nd2PtSi3 is discussed. The very small frequency shift of ac susceptibility peak position and distinct anomalies at TC in temperature dependent specific heat and electrical resistivity suggest that though more or less spins may be randomly frozen in Nd2PtSi3, the effects of spin-glass state are rather weak in this system.
