Abstract :
The exchange interaction between band carriers and localized magnetic moments was studied in MBE grown zinc blende Mg1−xMnxTe epilayers. Magnetic circular dichroism and magnetization were measured as a function of magnetic field at low temperature. The obtained exchange parameter (N0α−N0β) is lower than in Cd1−xMnxTe and Zn1−xMnxTe. Possible mechanisms leading to weaker s,p–d exchange interaction in Mg1−xMnxTe are discussed.
