Abstract
Artificial atoms in different confinement potentials are studied using the Jensen–Feynman variational approach. The density and pair correlation function of an harmonic model with statistics are analytically calculated and used to find the variational ground state energy in two and three dimensions. The results are compared with the numerical calculations and a good correlation is found.
