Abstract :
The Chevrel phase LaMo6Se8 has been studied between 15 and 4.2 K by 95Mo NMR spectroscopy. No shift of the spectral line was observed between the normal and the superconducting states, indicating a magnetic susceptibility dominated by a spin-orbit mechanism. The lineshape in the superconducting state was simulated by convolution of the normal state spectrum and the magnetic field distribution calculated with Londonʹs equations for a type-II superconductor. The penetration depth λ was estimated to be about 1500 Å at 4.2 K.
