Abstract
We report electrical resistance measurements under hydrostatic (up to 0.9 GPa) and quasi-hydrostatic pressure (beyond 1 GPa) in the ferromagnetic (FM) CePd2Al2Ga Kondo-lattice compound. From the analysis of the electrical resistance data we obtained the magnetic ordering temperatures, the values of the gap of magnons, and a coefficient related to the spin-wave stiffness. From the pressure dependence of these quantities, we conclude that the ambient pressure FM ordering appears to break down around 0.4 GPa changing to another magnetically ordered phase–presumably antiferromagnetic (AF)–before the expected transition into the paramagnetic state takes place at higher pressures.
