Abstract :
The magnetic properties of polycrystalline CaRu1−xMoxO3 (x=0 and 0.02) have been studied. For CaRuO3, the M ( T ) curves in the zero field cooling and the field cooling modes are divided below 12.7 K, exhibiting the character of spin glass state, which includes the coexistence of short-range ferromagnetic (FM) and antiferromagnetic (AFM) interactions. The FM interaction begins to take place above 15 K while the AFM one exists only below 12.7 K. The doping of Mo ions hardly affects the AFM interaction but enhances the FM one. The self-consistently renormalized spin fluctuation theory was used to judge the essence of ferromagnetism. This confirms that the ferromagnetism in CaRuO3 is itinerant and that the Mo doping weakens the itinerant properties.
