Volume plasmon of bismuth nanoparticles

This paper reports the measurements of the bulk plasmon of Bi nanoparticles supported by a SiO2 matrix using electron energy-loss spectroscopy. The blue shifts of plasmon peak in small particles were observed. However, the degree of shift was much smaller than the previous study in the literature and cannot be interpreted by the quantum confinement.
