Abstract
The magnetic properties of BaCuB2O5 are investigated by means of ac magnetic susceptibility, dc magnetization and heat capacity measurements. The results show that BaCuB2O5 behaves as the 2D spin- 1/2 weak ferromagnet with T c = ∼ 2.7 K . Also, Magnetic transition such as spin rotation or spin reorientation may occur while a magnetic field larger than 1 T is applied.
