Abstract
Applicability of the method used to prepare catalysts characterized by good uniformity and high dispersion of the active phase — deposition of metals (Ti, Co, Ni, Cr, Zn and Zr) acetylacetonate complexes and acetylacetone to obtain complex carbon–silica adsorbents was studied. It was stated that using acetylacetone as a carbon deposit precursor makes it possible to predict surface properties (porous structure parameters, carbon deposit amount) of carbon–silica adsorbents. In the case of metal acetylacetonates prediction of surface properties of carbon–silica adsorbents prepared from such substances is difficult due to complexity of physicochemical processes taking place during silica surface modification at the time of their pyrolysis (reactions of metal ions with both silica base substrate and pyrolysis products). These processes affect significantly porous structure parameters of the obtained adsorbent as well as its crystallographic structure and carbon deposit content.
