Abstract
The correlation between pretwist angle and director dynamics of the chiral nematic LC cells has been investigated with three-dimensional FEM. The three-dimensional FEM calculation reveals that the response time of the ON state increase in a proportional manner with the elastic energy that is related to the pretwist angle.
