Abstract :
Molecular motions in an organic superconductor, (TMTSF)2PF6, were investigated by means of 19F NMR. The temperature dependence of the spin–lattice relaxation rate was fitted with two distinct molecular motions, indicating two different modes ascribed to the distorted octahedral anion sublattice. As a result, anisotropic anionic motions, which may trigger the subtle mesoscopic electronic instability in this quasi-1D conductor, were revealed.
