  • Abstract
    An energy transfer from chromium towards thulium ions is pointed out in LiNbO3 : MgO under laser excitation into the 4T2 chromium absorption band. Its quantum yield was found to be 75% in the studied CrTm co-doped sample. The transfer is partly radiative and partly non-radiative and is an average over different transfers concerning different couples of chromium and thulium sites.
