Abstract :
We report preliminary A-band resonance Raman spectra of IC2H4C2F4I in order to investigate bond selective electronic excitation and short-time photodissociation dynamics associated with the CI bond cleavage. The resonance Raman spectra have most of their intensity in peaks tentatively assigned as fundamentals and only a moderate amount of intensity in overtones and combination bands. The resonance Raman intensity patterns in conjunction with results of other iodoalkanes suggest that the CI bond cleavage has a multidimensional character which is probably greater for CI bond cleavage at the CF2I end of the molecule than at the CH2I end of the molecule.
