Excited singlet state intramolecular charge transfer in di and trinitrotetraphenylporphyrins

The different positional isomers of β-substituted di and trinitrotetraphenylporphyrins exhibit specific photophysical properties. All the nitroporphyrins display significant excited singlet state intramolecular charge transfer arising from partial rotation of the nitro group.
