Abstract
Within the framework of the classical approach a study has been undertaken to the interaction between two atomic dipoles, one of them residing inside a dielectric micro (nano)sphere and the other near its outside surface. Quasi-static approximation analysis of the exact classical dispersion equation obtained for this system reveals the complicated dependence of the energy exchange on the problem parameters. In particular, the resonant exchange is only possible for fixed positions of the interacting dipoles. In this case the energy exchange rate exceeds substantially the rate near the plane interface. The results obtained are of interest in implementing photoselective microscopy capable of nanometer-high spatial resolution.
