Abstract :
Solid-state ESR and 13C NMR spectra indicate that two electronic states of C60− exist in KC60(THF)x (0 < x < 1) which can be assigned to ground 2A: (arising from the C60− … K+ loose ion-pair) and 2E (arising from the C60−K+(THF) tight ion-pair) states, originating from the splitting of the 2T1u state induced by Jahn-Teller distortion.
