Abstract :
The largest boron carbonitride (BCN) rods of about 20 μm in diameter and 100 μm in length are synthesized on molybdenum substrates by bias-assisted hot-filament chemical vapor deposition. These rods with full-hollow or part-solid insides are composed of many small crystalline particles shown by scanning electron microscopy. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and energy dispersive X-ray analysis are used to confirm their chemical composition and atomic-level hybrid.
