Abstract :
The (1, 1) and (2, 2) bands of the A 2Π–X 2Σ transition of ZrN between 5620 and 5891 Å have been studied using wavelength-resolved laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy. Transitions from v=1, 2 of the A 2Π state to v=0, 1, 2 of the X 2Σ state have been observed and assigned. The vibrational spacing, ΔG1/2, of the A 2Π and X 2Σ states of 90ZrN have been measured to be 958 and 995 cm−1, respectively. The observed ground-state X 2Σ vibrational frequency is in good agreement with values determined from matrix isolation spectroscopy. The upper-state vibrational frequency is reported for the first time. The ground-state vibrational constants of 92ZrN and 94ZrN have also been determined.
