Abstract :
The mono-trimethylenediamine adducts were prepared via the reaction between trimethylenediamine and C60 in toluene. The product was characterized by ESI-MS and NMR spectroscopy. The solid state 13C NMR showed that two amino groups of the diamine adducted to the C60 forming a cyclo-derivative via an intermediate in which only one amino group of the diamine was connected to the C60. The mono-trimethylenediamine C60 adducts possess the optical non-linearities with χ(3)=5.39×10−13 esu.
