Abstract :
Mass, velocity and angle distributions of the ablated species generated from 355 nm pulsed laser ablation (PLA) of a LiCoO2 target were investigated with an angle- and time-resolved quadrupole mass spectrometric technique. The observed neutral and ionic ablated species include Li, Co, LiO, CoO, LiO2,CoO2, and clusters Li4,Li2O, Li5O. The kinetic energies of Li, Co and LiO ions are independent of the laser fluence. The angular distributions of the ablated species can be simulated by a cosnθ or a bicosine function acosθ+(1−a)cosnθ, respectively.
