Abstract :
The free jet millimeter wave spectrum of benzophenone has been investigated in the frequency range 60–73 GHz. The molecule exhibits a C2 symmetry with the two phenyl groups tilted by 31.74°. From the values of the quartic centrifugal distortion constants the lowest torsional frequency has been estimated to be 17 cm−1.
