Abstract :
We present normal mode analyses of energy flow and late time energy partitioning in 30-mode benzene. The highest-frequency out-of-plane E1g and E2u modes are second to the highest-frequency in-plane E2g and E1u modes in importance in redistributing energy from an initially excited E1u CH stretching mode. At 9.6 ps, the distribution of vibrational energy lost from the bright state can be described by statistical models.
