Abstract :
The titled compound (1) was prepared and characterized. Under suitable conditions, the monolayer of 1 can be formed at the air–water interface and transferred to various substrates by using the Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) technique with transfer ratio greater than 0.9. The LB films of 1 deposited onto the substrates were preliminarily characterized by FT-IR and low-angle X-ray diffraction analysis. The results from ESR and SQUID investigations indicate that the LB films of 1 possess antiferromagnetic properties at low temperature. Possible explanations for the magnetic behavior of LB films of 1 and comparison with that of the polycrstals of 1 are also presented.
