Infrared observations of the B3 and Al3 molecules in inert-gas matrices at 4 K

Ground-state vibrational frequencies of the matrix-isolated B3 and Al3 molecules have been observed. For Al3 there also appears a progression of bands beginning at ≈ 1800 cm−1, which is attributed to absorption to a low-lying electronic state.
