Abstract
Triple differential cross sections (TDCS) of alkali-like ion Mg+ in its ground state are studied theoretically by fast electron impact for coplanar asymmetric geometry, using the correlated three Coulomb wavefunction for the final state which satisfies the asymptotic three body boundary condition. The long range Coulomb attraction is also taken into account in the initial channel. The Mg+ ion is treated in a model potential approach. The main feature noticed in the TDCS curve is the presence or an intense recoil peak for lower incident energies even larger than the binary one. Secondary structures are found in both binary and recoil regions.
