Abstract
Magnetic deflection measurements were performed on Fen and FenHm (n=10–25) in a molecular beam experiment. The observed high-field deflections were analyzed using the Langevin/Curie law model of superparamagnetism to extract the intrinsic magnetic moments. For n⩾13, hydrogenation increased the magnetic moments of the iron clusters substantially. The enhancement was largest for Fe13 in which a factor of two increase in magnetic moment was observed.
