Abstract :
Two new visible emission systems of the ArKr+ heterodimer ion were observed in the 660–710 and 930–990 nm regions by the addition of Kr into an Ar afterglow. The former band was ascribed to the B 12 → X 12 transition from the ν′ = 0 and 1 levels, while the latter band was assigned to the C2 12 → A2 12 transition from the ν′ = 0–2 levels. The ν0 value of the B 12 → X 12 transition and the νe value of the C212 → A212 transition were estimated to be 18103.4 ± 2.3 and 10623.4 ± 1.6 cm−1, respectively. The ΔG(12) and D0 values of the B12 state and the we, wexe and D0 values of the A212 state were determined to be 44.7 ± 0.7, 645, 93.7 ± 1.2, 2.44 ± 0.17 and 1093 cm−1 respectively, on the basis of a vibrational analysis.
