Coordination control of intramolecular energy transfer in boronate-bridged naphthalene-aryl ketone molecule

In a dyad consisting of an aryl ketone (AC) appended to a 1-phenylnaphthalene (NA) through a boronate ester, F− coordination at the boronate bridge completely suppresses triplet–triplet energy transfer from 3AC* to NA without any serious influence on rapid singlet–singlet energy transfer from 1NA* to AC.
